The only problem with this suggestion is that Lungfish have a spine and a brain and Beattie doesn't! |

Funny how things go in circles sometimes.
This discussion is eerily like one from nearly 5 months ago...

This was, I believe, the very first image posted onto the forum.

C'mon now you creative genii who can put a lungfish head on BBB's body?
A card could then read: Where is the Premier headed for Christmas?
or Whats ahead for the Premier? Looks Fishy.
or HO HO HO Head of Ofishaldumb.Head of Ofishaldumb.Head of Ofishaldumb. _________________ Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. John 4:13f |

Update.
The STMR group have finalised designs for Xmas cards. I'm told printing will take approximately two weeks.
Low-res images of the card designs are attached below. The actual cards will be high quality photo prints. The back page of the cards have a short message about the proposed dam and it's impacts. Standard card size with plenty of space inside for a Christmas message.
The cards will be on sale for $10 per mixed pack of 10, from the info centre and the other outlets around the place where STMR stickers etc. are available.
For those who are not local, cards will be available via mail order (postage price to be confirmed). If you wish to place a mail order please let me know via PM with name, quantity, email and postal address. I will then let you know when pricing is confirmed so you can send a cheque to STMR so the cards can be sent with minimum delay as soon as they're back from the printers.
Big thank-you's to Jenny and Arkin for all their hard work on the cards. Also to Arkin and Kevin Coppalotti for making their professional photography available free of charge. And to Murray Views for the "mates rates" on production and printing.
Please support this initiative. As well as friends and family, I'll even be sending the Premier and QWIPL cards this year!

| I went for the turtle card too. And what was magic? The turtle had a name. Makes people identify and forges a bond. This lends itself to what is that creature, get a few of the special ones for photo appeal and name them, up to today? May work well for an International following. Governments HATE bad press with a passion. Beatty being so teflon coated appears that he can handle the press OK, but other "decision makers" cannot. Send them a card too. |

Thanks expat. The turtle images belong to AFTCRA and they are using them for their own Xmas cards. They're pretty good - I bought 5 a couple of weeks ago. Contact Craig (expansa1).
Announcement
The STMR Xmas cards have just been delivered today. Jenny is packaging them right now. They are now available down at the Kandanga info centre - $10 for a mixed pack of 10 including envelopes. I should be able to advise about other outlets, and postage/handling costs for mail orders, tonight.
In addition - how about a "No Dam. Save water drink beer" stubby cooler or 5 for putting in you Christmas stockings? Bargain at just $7.50 each (beer not included).

This is a fantastic Idea.
I would love to order 2 packs and 4 stubby coolers. The more we spread the word the better...
Cheers

Xmas cards are currently also available at Dagun Station (from 1.30pm to 6pm Saturdays and other scheduled Valley Rattler visit times).
Stubbie holders are currently also available at Dagun Station and the Kandanga Pub.
For mail orders of Xmas cards, the total price including postage and handling is $13 per pack of 10 (including envelopes). You need to mail a cheque made out to "Save the Mary River Coordinating Group" to:

and include a note detailing your order and your name and mail address. Please also include a contact phone number in case there are any problems.
For mail order of other merchandise (including stubbie holders) please contact the Kandanga info centre on (07) 5488 4800 between 10am and 4pm 7 days a week, and the volunteer staff there will assist you by getting a quote from the post office for the P&H costs for your order. |

Good News and Bad News!
Bad news... our Save The Mary Christmas cards have all sold out at the Kandanga Info Centre and any stocks in other places are being used to possibly fill postal requests. So if you were hoping to get some more...
Good news is that they have been a great success !!
(The STMR website now indicates they are SOLD OUT.) |
